LXJ: At what age did you decide you wanted to become a rapper?
A:I decided to become a rapper at 15 or 16.That was around the same time I actually started writing.I used to joke around with rap but now I take it serious and delivery messages through it.
LXJ: The music industry is hard to get into, what do you tell yourself to stay motivated?
A:Well that's what people say you know, and I never experienced it myself but if others could make it why can't I? The celebrities that I watch in our day were in the same position that I'm currently in. If he can, I can! I use everybody as motivation wither its good or bad. I always tell my self "you have nothing to loose", quitting is the easiest thing to do you, have to find the meaning of life being hard."
LXJ: Favorite song of all time?
A:Me tengo que ir (Personal idea ) - Los Adolescentes... It's a salsa song that reminds me of my uncle who passed away.
LXJ: Favorite artist and why?
A:Honestly, I admire too many artist to just claim one however, Kanye west is the artist who has the most influence out of the pool of artist that I admire.
LXJ: What would you like your fans or future fans to know about your music?
A: I will take this moment and set this expectation. I do have a couple of songs that may be considered " commercial ", however, in that style of music I feel that I still give some lyrical substance. Those songs are theoretically made to be appealing to the ear. My main goal is provide music that relates to our daily life. Music that the people can relate to. I put my all to give you good music and I try to be diverse as possible.....I just hope you respect it.
LXJ: Who do you look to for inspiration?
A:Generally everyone in the industry inspires me to do better. Besides artists, my older brother is an inspiration. What he does for me and my family is so great, he's humble, and has set such a good example for me to look up to. I thank god for having a brother like that. Lol he was also the person who opened my eyes to hip-hop, as child I use to come home looking forward to watch cartoons. But my brother would just change the channel to BET and make me watch Rap city the basement. I use to cry at times but then i ended falling in love with the culture of hip-hop and rap. I never lost that love since... Thanks bro lol.
LXJ: What do you want to accomplish in life and by what age?
A:By the age 18 or 19 I wish to be signed to a major label and have a strong fan base. Probably drop an album at age 20 or 21. Winning a couple Grammys would be nice lol. Also if I do win a Grammy I would be the first pure Dominican hip-hop artist to accomplish that. To have that under my belt would mean so much to me, my family, and the Dominican Republic. But most of all, I want to be remembered for greatness and bringing a new flavor to music in general.
